pasado Valdepi\u00e9lago nos adentramos en plena monta\u00f1a&#8230;..<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Un peque\u00f1o desv\u00edo nos conduce a Valdorria, zona escarpada y abrupta a la que se retir\u00f3 de joven el monje Froil\u00e1n (s. IX) para hacer vida erem\u00edtica, el que m\u00e1s tarde, ya anciano, hab\u00eda de ser obispo de Le\u00f3n, su santo Patrono. Arriba, cerca de la cumbre de Pe\u00f1a de Valdorria hay una peque\u00f1a ermita dedicada a San Froil\u00e1n a la que se accede por una larga escalinata tallada en las rocas.<br \/>Retornando a nuestra ruta nos encontramos con Nocedo y su balneario de aguas termales, cerrado hace pocos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Aguas arriba viene el Curue\u00f1o luchando entre fragosidades angosturas por las Hoces de Valdeteja. Una carretera a la derecha nos acerca a Arintero, patria chica de Juanita Garcia, la Dama de Arintero, la mujer-soldado que lucha a favor de Isabel de Castilla y se distingui\u00f3 en las batallas de Zamora y Toro, a fines del siglo XV.<\/p>\n<p>Y llegamos a Los Arg\u00fcellos, zona de antiguos arrieros, de leyendas y de duendes; en ella se asienta Lugueros, con f\u00e1brica de embutidos, Tolibia, Cerulleda y peque\u00f1as aldeas en las que subsisten casas solariegas y vestigios de una calzada romana.<\/p>\n<p>La subida al Puerto de Vegarada, a 1.560 m. de altura ofrece buenas panor\u00e1micas de su entorno; es una zona de caza mayor de pastoreo de ganado trashumante. header_2_line_height_tablet=&#8221;1.4em&#8221; header_2_line_height_last_edited=&#8221;off|desktop&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<p><strong>Ruta breve la de Bo\u00f1ar a Valporquero, porque su destino, sus famosas Cuevas, ocupar\u00e1n la jornada, llena, por otra parte, de sorprendentes encantos y contrastes en el recorrido por las cuencas de los tres r\u00edos que la ba\u00f1an.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La Vecilla, ya sobre el Curue\u00f1o, fue de antiguo una villa acogedora, simp\u00e1tica y se\u00f1orial, bien comunicada, centro de veraneo. Conserva una hermosa torre medieval (s. XIV), de la que han desaparecido sus almenas, y un viejo torre\u00f3n, \u00faltimamente reparado, que fue antigua c\u00e1rcel .<\/p>\n<p>Pasando cerca de Aviados, donde existen las ruinas de su famoso castillo, que fue casa solariega y solar primitivo de los Guzma\u00adnes, se llega al Tor\u00edo, a la zona minera de Robles y Matallana. Rio arriba nos sorprenden las Hoces de Vegacervera, en las que rio y carretera luchan juntos por abrirse paso entre las altivas crester\u00edas de caliza, hasta llegar a Felm\u00edn, de donde parte una carretera de alta monta\u00f1a hacia las Cuevas de Valporquero, el complejo espeleol\u00f3gico m\u00e1s importante del norte de Espa\u00f1a. Tiene un recorrido superior a los 3.000 m. y abiertos al turismo 1.300 m. Las Cuevas se hallan bajo la Direcci\u00f3n de la Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial, que ha editado varias obras sobre la misma y a las que nos remitimos para esta visita.<\/p>\n<p>Si sobran ganas y tiempo se puede continuar la ruta aguas arriba del Tor\u00edo. Gete, Getino y Cr\u00e9menes, tierras anta\u00f1o de arrieros con privilegios reales para su comercio, guardan leyendas y tradiciones que a\u00fan perduran. Sus bellos paisajes, su peculiar cocina y sus truchas al estilo de la zona, complementar\u00e1n, a la hora del yantar, esta sorprendente jornada.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_3,2_3&#8243; La Collada, divisoria de aguas, nos da acceso al valle minero de Sabero, en el que sus famosas explotaciones de carb\u00f3n en mina y a cielo abierto pasan por d\u00edas de dudoso porvenir. All\u00ed puede visitar el MUSEO DE LA SIDERURGIA DE CASTILLA Y LEON (http:\/\/www.museosm.com).<br \/>En Cr\u00e9menes se puede visitar su nueva iglesia neorrom\u00e1nica, con pinturas del leon\u00e9s Santiago Eguiagaray.<br \/>Desde Las Salas es obligado el desv\u00edo para conocer Lois, a 10 Kms., con varias casas blasonadas y su famosa iglesia barroca, \u201cLa Catedral de la Monta\u00f1a&#8221; del siglo XVIII, construida con m\u00e1rmol de las canteras del pueblo.<\/p>\n<p>De vuelta a la N-621 se llega a Ria\u00f1o bordeando el embalse. El nuevo Ria\u00f1o en nada se parece a la vieja Villa, que todos a\u00f1oran. Ria\u00f1o es hoy una urbanizaci\u00f3n moderna que lucha por una supervivencia digna y pr\u00f3spera; a ella han sido trasladadas, piedra a piedra, la antiqu\u00edsima iglesia de La Puerta que ser\u00e1, en su d\u00eda museo comarcal, y la iglesia de Pedrosa, del siglo XVI, con reproducci\u00f3n de su portada rom\u00e1ntica cuyo original ha sido devuelta a Siero, de donde proced\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Ria\u00f1o es centro de una gran comarca de inigualables y bell\u00edsimos paisajes, de los que no sabe uno si admirar m\u00e1s la agresividad y altivez de sus calizas crestas o la exuberante y variada vegetaci\u00f3n de sus montes.<br \/>Desde Ria\u00f1o puede el viajero dirigirse hac\u00eda Asturias, Palencia, Cantabria o bien volver sus pasos hac\u00eda Le\u00f3n, que cualquier ruta colmar\u00e1 sus exigencias tur\u00edsticas.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_3,2_3&#8243; header_2_line_height_last_edited=&#8221;off|desktop&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<h3><strong>La cuenca alta del Porma es una zona a la que la naturaleza ha dotado de grandes recursos&#8230;..<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&#8230;de una sorprendente orograf\u00eda con variadas y diversas especies arb\u00f3reas de una fauna y flora tan rica y abundante que colma las exigencias de los m\u00e1s estudiosos a mano del hombre ha colaborado con la creaci\u00f3n de extensos pinares, choperas y un embalse, otrora fuente de discordias y hoy fuente de riqueza, que juntamente con el Esla riega amplias zonas del sur de Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Apenas iniciada la ruta llegamos al Remell\u00e1n, la &#8220;Romalia&#8221; romanas, hoy Venta de prestigiosa cocina. Un desv\u00edo de 3 kms, nos lleva a Oville que, con Valdecastillo, ruta arriba, poseen ricas minas de s\u00edlice. Luego el pantano, que aneg\u00f3 Vegami\u00e1n y los pueblos de su municipio en 1967. A su vera el monte Pardomino, con tantas vallejas como d\u00edas tiene el a\u00f1o, para\u00edso de cazadores.<\/p>\n<p>Puebla de Lillo es una hermosa villa de veraneo, a la sombra del Susar\u00f3n y de Rebollares, con una gran riqueza ganadera apoyada en extensas praderas bien regadas por innumerables arroyos. Sus famosos pinares, con pintorescos paisajes, son objeto de excursiones locales.<\/p>\n<p>La ruta nos conduce a las orillas del Lago de Isoba y a poca distancia del Lago Ausente, rodeados de leyendas.<br \/>Finalmente se llega al Puerto de San Isidro, con moderna estaci\u00f3n invernal de esqu\u00ed, patrocinada por La Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de Le\u00f3n con un gran n\u00famero de medios mec\u00e1nicos de transporte a las pistas, escuela de esqu\u00ed, toda la serie de servicios, asistencias y hosteler\u00eda inherentes a la calidad de una estaci\u00f3n de primera categor\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Hasta mayo nieve abundante, despu\u00e9s el paisaje se adorna con la belleza de la flora y fauna caracter\u00edstica de esta regi\u00f3n.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_3,2_3&#8243; A su derecha el legendario monte Pardomino, con la mas variada riqueza de \u00e1rboles plantas y animales; m\u00e1s arriba Puebla de Lillo, de origen romano, con su ermita de las Nieves sobre la pl\u00e1cida pradera; la torre de los Enr\u00edquez a la sombra del Susar\u00f3n; las minas de talco a la falda de la monta\u00f1a y al fondo, a la derecha, el impresionante macizo de Mampodre, Reserva Nacional.<\/p>\n<p>Pronto llegamos a Cofi\u00f1al para ascender al Puerto de las Se\u00f1ales y caer sobre el de Tarna, con la fuente \u201cLa Nalona\u201d a escasos metros.<\/p>\n<p>Se inicia el descenso al valle de Valdebur\u00f3n, antigua Merindad medieval. Todo el es una continua alfombra verde, salpicado de peque\u00f1os pueblos como Acevedo, cuna de hombres ilustres y de tradiciones hist\u00f3ricas; su iglesia tiene retablos, tallas y pinturas de indudable inter\u00e9s art\u00edstico. M\u00e1s abajo Burda, cabeza de la Merindad, donde pueden visitarse la iglesia y los palacios de los Gom\u00e9z Caso y los Allende.<br \/>Ya en el valle de Orza se encuentra la ermita de Ntra. Sra. de Pont\u00f3n, erigida por el rey Astur Fruela I en el s. VIII.<\/p>\n<p>La inmediata desviaci\u00f3n a la derecha nos lleva al valle de Valde\u00f3n. El mirador de Piedrasitas en Panderrueda nos ofrece el espect\u00e1culo m\u00e1s maravilloso de la cordillera c\u00e1ntabra: Los Picos de Europa con Pe\u00f1a Santa, Torre Cerredo, Llambri\u00f3n, etc., en mutua competencia de majestuosidad y belleza.
