Its parish church was rebuilt in 1899 thanks to the good offices of Don Celedonio Pereda, son of the village, who was vicar of León. It is dedicated to Santiago Apóstol in honour of whom the patron saint’s festivities are held.

Nowadays Valdehuesa is a touristic place par excellence, thanks in great extent to the sport of climbing.

Another great tourist attraction is the Wild Fauna Museum, located between the villages of Rucayo and Valdehuesa, about 7 km away from Boñar.
