It is first mentioned in the early years of the 13th century in a donation of an iron vein made by King Alfonso IX to the monastery of Valdedios.

Since the Middle Ages it has belonged to the council of Boñar and the Abbey of Valdedios.

 

It is located 3 kilometres from Boñar.

Its parish church is dedicated to Santa Eulalia and dates from the 17th century. Like most of the region, it belongs to the rural Leonese style.

It celebrates its patron saint festivities on 3 February in honour of San Blas and San Juan on 29 August.
