Leaving Cerecedo, we begin the ascent to Valdecastillo, following the river Porma along its right bank, where we can observe different types of riverside vegetation, mainly poplars, cherry trees and birch trees, on the Pardomino path.

Continuing the ascent towards the pass that divides these two villages, we leave the old Herrería on the left with its peculiar tower-shaped dovecote and soon we reach the point from which the two valleys are visible.

To the left begins the wide river valleys and to the right is the narrowness of the mountain valleys, with the majestic Picos de Europa massif in the background.

We will soon have to take the downhill path that starts on our left at the entrance to Pardomino, thus beginning the descent to the banks of the river Porma again, reaching the bridge that leads us to Valdecastillo.

As this trail runs close to a protected area, it is advisable not to leave the marked trail route.

It is advisable to bring warm clothing, appropriate footwear, water and sun protection.

Water is the driving force of all nature.
